DESCRIPTION:  \nDECEMBER 13\, 2023 \n1-3PM EST \nWebinar Registration – Zoom (zoomgov.com) \n  \n                   \n           Greg Lankler Bio                BG Wright Bio           Stephanie Halcrow Bio \nPresentation PowerPoint \nNAC consultants Greg Lankler\, BG Wright\, and Stephanie Halcrow have decades of combined service as professional staff in the U.S. Congress on both the House and Senate Appropriations Committee and the House Armed Services Committee.  Together\, they will provide NAC Members with an in-depth explanation of how the congress conducts DoD program and policy oversight\, how DoD funding is authorized and appropriated\, and MOST IMPORTANLY\, how you can be involved in this process as an advocate for your programs and your company. \nThe webinar will include a discussion of congressional defense authorization and appropriations documents and timelines\, an explanation of opportunities for constituent companies to communicate with their Representative and Senators in support of funding for programs of interest\, and suggestions for how you can follow and be involved throughout the process from the DoD budget drop through final enactment of the authorization and appropriations acts. \nThis will be the first of a multi-part program the NAC will offer over the next 12 months.  Part I (December webinar) will provide an overview of the entire process and specific activities that will occur between January and June.  These topics include – \n\nThe FY25 DoD budget submission and Budget Justification Materials\nThe “Member Request” Process\nEngaging with Representatives and Senators\nCongressional Defense Committee process milestones and legislative materials\n\nParts II and III will be held during the summer and fall and provide an update on the status of the congressional defense bills\, what to watch for\, and how to continue to be involved in the process as it moves to conclusion.
