Scott Hyde

Scott Hyde is a Principal Engineer/Scientist with Applied Research Associates, Inc., bringing 39 years of aerospace experience focused on solid rocket motors (SRM) and air-delivered munitions (ADM). Over his career, he has held leadership roles spanning program management, research and development, business development, and engineering, including leadership positions at Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems and Aerojet Rocketdyne.   Mr. Hyde is recognized as an industry expert in integrated systems health management, aging surveillance, and service life prediction for propulsion systems. He has served as Chief Engineer and technical lead on Minuteman Intercontinental Ballistic Missile and led the Technical Service Life Prediction Working Group. He has authored and co-authored numerous technical papers advancing the state of munitions health management, reliability, and modeling and simulation.   In addition to his technical contributions, Mr. Hyde has been deeply involved in advancing collaborative research across government and industry. He chaired the Integrated Health Management Panel for the Joint Army, Navy, NASA, and Air Force Modeling and Simulation Subcommittee for two decades and received a lifetime achievement award for his service. He also supports STEM initiatives, mentoring the next generation of engineers and served on the Industrial Advisory Board for Utah State University’s Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department.   Mr. Hyde holds both B.S. and M.S. degrees in Structural Engineering from Utah State University and maintains a U.S. Government security clearance.
