Official Statement from the National Armaments Consortium on the Trump Administration’s Actions to Address National Security Concerns Related to Critical Minerals, Semiconductors, and their Derivative Products
The National Armaments Consortium applauds the Administration’s actions to strengthen America’s supply chains for critical minerals and semiconductors—resources that are foundational to our national defense, advanced manufacturing base, and long-term national and economic security.
Processed critical minerals and advanced semiconductors underpin nearly every modern defense system. Addressing vulnerabilities in these supply chains is essential to ensuring the United States can field, sustain, and modernize capabilities for the warfighter without undue reliance on foreign sources.
NAC supports efforts that incentivize domestic production and expand secure processing capacity. Equally important is lowering barriers to entry for innovative and nontraditional companies that can contribute new technologies, processing methods, and manufacturing solutions to these critical sectors.
As a consortium that brings together government, industry, and academia—including both traditional and nontraditional defense contractors—NAC stands ready to support policies that strengthen the defense industrial base, accelerate innovation, and build resilient, diversified supply chains that enhance U.S. national security.
