Everything You Need to Know From The Ordnance And Ballistics Technology Working Group Meeting

Earlier this month, The National Armaments Consortium (NAC), in partnership with The Naval Postgraduate School (NPS), hosted the 73rd annual Ordnance and Ballistics Technology Working Group in Monterey, CA. The event brought together NAC member organizations and government representatives to foster technical conversations to advance collaboration for high performance and cost-effective weapons systems.

Over the course of 3 ½ days, the Working Group’s 283 attendees – 120 industry and 163 government – heard from keynote speakers from both sectors and attended 9 sessions with more than 50 presentations covering all facets of technical data related to conventional ordnance and ballistics to deliver the best weapons systems to the U.S. Warfighter.

 

Additional highlights from the event include:

  • A keynote address from Dr. Jacob Barton, Chief of Intelligence, Army Futures Command.
  • A keynote address from Mr. Jeff Brock, Missiles and Munitions Portfolio Lead for the OUSD/A&S ASD Industrial Base Policy Defense Production Act Investments (DPA Title III) Office, Booz Allen Hamilton.

 

Additionally, the event included more than 50 unique presentations covering nine overarching topics:

  • Ballistics/Armor
  • Warhead – Blast Frag
  • Advance Testing
  • Additive Manufacturing
  • Warhead-Shaped Charge
  • Hard Target Defeat
  • Energetics
  • Maritime Strike
  • Unconventional Maritime Lethality

Save the Dates: Upcoming NAC Events

The next opportunity to collaborate with the NAC will be September 4 at the Indirect Fire Protection Capability Inc 2 (IFPC inc 2) 2nd Interceptor Overview event in Huntsville, Alabama. The event will take  place at the Westin Hotel and will include briefings on the AMTC 24-11 Requirement: GM-24-11-01 Indirect Fire Protection Capability 2nd Interceptor and networking opportunities with defense industry colleagues. Additionally, registration is now open for the 2024 U.S. Energetic Materials Technology Working Group Meeting to take place from October 8th to October 10th, 2024 at the Jack C. Taylor Conference Center in Annapolis, Maryland.
